PikePoints Launched... Yep, after months of dreaming, designing and testing, I've finally launched PikePoints as part of a total rebuilding of the PikeNet web site. So now you can post a comment on any product or service that has a link at PikeNet. You've got the power. Your ratings will be translated into gold stars (when there are five or more reviews) and replace the old PikeNet red stars (which rated the site, not the service). As David Siegel writes in Futurize Your Enterprise, "Although it sounds counterintuitive, your customers [visitors, in PikeNet's case] often want to interact and help each other." And I think that within the real estate industry, there is a huge amount of goodwill and common knowledge that practitioners like to share. So here's your opportunity to swap ideas. Go to any link at PikeNet, click Info and then Post Your Comments. Note the rules and remember that readers appreciate an authentic voice. So anonymous e-mail from HotMail and Yahoo will not be as powerful as thoughtful responses from recognized domains with real names included. PikeNet 2.0 ... That's what I'm calling the latest version of PikeNet. It's not totally complete. As you poke around, you'll find a few bugs, which should be fixed within a couple of days. And there are a few more features that will be added very soon -- like better searching. But the essence is very much there. My web developer, Synapta, has done a great job of building a more powerful site, while preserving the basic look and feel of the original PikeNet. BTW (by the way), developing a web site is really, really hard. ... What do you think? --Peter |
