The Wired Professional... Knowing how difficult it is to keep up with the latest technology, I'm always amazed at the ability of a working professional to conduct a real world business and yet incorporate the latest cyber tools. Hey, it darn near kills me, and this is all I do. So I was especially pleased to receive the following response to my recent question, "What's your killer application?," from Jim Tucker, Broker/Managing Partner of Land Strategies in Williamsburg, VA. "I am the most satisfied that I have ever been with software. Largely because of the following: MS Office 2000 Professional (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, FrontPage, Powerpoint, Explorer), MS PhotoDraw 2000 (ver 2), Adobe Acrobat (full version 4.05) and CD Maker (WinOnCD). With these products, we can create and distribute digital presentations, packages that absolutely astound prospects with the quality of information and photographs (aerials, etc.). I especially like the feature that allows me to create in the MS Office app and press a button to translate it into Acrobat documents. "Acrobat is awesome. You can download a whole web site with a click and include it into the presentation on a single property. Great for aggregating research information and indexing it for due diligence on a property. In most cases, we create a series of web pages that are 'buried' in our site. We then direct inquiries (from newsgroup postings) to the executive summary, which also contains a registration form. When we receive the registration form completed, we send out the full package on CD-ROM that we set up with autorun so the presentation leaps on the screen when they get it!" ... Very cool. --Peter |
