More Training Success -- IREM, GraceHill and ProCalc

Save Time and Money Online...   As outlined in two recent Dispatches -- March 30 and April 6 -- online training is playing a bigger role in corporate training.   Although as my friend Mike Lipsey at The Lipsey Company argues, "Nothing replaces hands-on, interactive training with an instructor.  Online training works best for hourly employees, not management."  Yes, online training will not replace real people, and Mike is terrific.  Yet there is a role for cost-effective online training as a part of the training mix.

For example, Kevin Strong at OntimeTraining  writes about OnTimeTraining's recent agreement with IREM to "provide the CPM and other IREM designations all online."  IREM will provide the content and OnTimeTraining will convert the content into interactive web-based training courses.

Both Dan Sanchez at ApartmentComps and Brian Good at ResidentDirect strongly recommended Grace Hill, which is solely focused on education for the multifamily industry.  Joe Bailey tells me that Grace Hill's next course, which will be on Fair Housing, will be online shortly.

Alan Bushell at ProCalc raves about WebX. ... "For years, I traveled 80,000 miles a year, crisscrossing the country doing training and sales presentations. ... Approximately one year ago, we signed on with WebX.  We have been making sales presentations as well as doing lots of ProCalc training on the web.  We have even packaged a beginner class and an intermediate class. ... Everybody loves it because they are short and sweet, and they can do them at their leisure. ... I will tell you web training and web sales presentations are the greatest thing since sliced bread." ...  What was the greatest thing before sliced bread?
