************************************************** CONTENTS 1. What is the PikeNet
Directory? ************************************************** 1. The PikeNet Directory of Commercial Real Estate will feature reviews of web sites of real estate firms and resources of interest to real estate professionals. Each site will be assigned a Market Area (close to an MSA) and a Category (broker, consultant, REIT, etc.). The purpose of this directory is to provide context and guidance to the thousands of practitioners that will be using the web as a business tool in the future. 2. To date I have completed over 500 reviews of sites, including over 125 brokers, over 65 owners and developers and over 40 listing services. While I have developed the content, the program is being designed, built and will be hosted by Internet Business Solutions in Mountain View, California, (http://www.inetbiz.com). I'm quite excited about the initial version which is now up on the net (privately) in an alpha state. I spent an hour browsing it last night, and I think that you will be impressed. I am hoping to release it for beta testing to the recipients of this Dispatch by the end of March. 3. Last week I finally got my ISDN line installed to my "virtually San Francisco" office. That's why my fax number changes below. It was quite a saga, but absolutely worth the struggle. Using the net at 128k is a whole lot more fun than 14.4k or 28.8. My guess is that most businesses that provide access to the web will want to do so at ISDN speeds in their workplaces. Cheers, Peter |
