1. Headline... "Building a Community Online—Dupre & Scott Apartment Advisors." Using the web to actively promote a real estate services business is a new marketing idea, and Dupre & Scott embraced the concept to enhance a successful research practice.

2. New and Notable... Office Buildings Magazine, created by Yale Robbins, Inc., this excellent site contains thousands of descriptions and photos of Northeastern Office Buildings. Nations Bank Plaza, a premier office building in Tampa, has put up a gorgeous site. Check the graphic on the home page. Stanford Ranch, north of Sacramento, joins the Irvine Company and the Hacienda Business Park as major California mixed-use projects online. The Orange County, California, home page contains important links for those active in that market. Florida-based Spencer and Jonnatti Architects have built an attractive site showing representative projects. *Find these sites by clicking the Text Search button and entering a complete or partial word.*

3. Road Warrior I... PikeNet is now in Spain on a long planned "last" family vacation with our two daughters (18 and 21). I decided to personally test just how global the information superhighway is. First, the hardware: plug adapters, telephone jack adapters (actually not necessary in Spain which uses RJ11), modem line tester, digital converter, alligator clips, splitter and a "filter" for taxing impulses (whatever that means). Second, the connection: signing up with a local ISP online from California. I chose EUnet which claims to be the largest in Europe with 300 POPs (Points of Presence). Third, the software: configuring Windows 95 for the Madrid POP which involved a 30-minute conversation in Spanish with technical support and finally configuring the modem settings in Dialup Networking for the particular hotel system (pulse, dial 0 for outside line.) Wow, I did it…if you get this message.

4. PikeNet Pictures... I posted two pictures of me under "Announcements" on the home page—"before" as a corporate real estate consultant and "after" as a relaxed web citizen.
