1. Road Warrior III... For those receiving this Dispatch for the first time, please note that this Dispatch is coming from Spain where PikeNet is on "vacation." We’ll be back in the office next Thursday, July 18. This past week I’ve been restricted to 2400 baud. So no web surfing (!), just e-mail work. Hopefully I’ll be able to post my story on Ohio’s web site Monday night when we’re back in Madrid. "Virtually Ohio—the Heartland’s Superhighway" will describe this terrific site (www.ohiobiz.com).

2. New and Notable... Jonathan Westeinde, publisher of the Shopping Center Bulletin Board (www.scbb.com), has informed me that the Price REIT has a new home page (21 retail centers in six states) at www.pricereit.com and that Cambridge Shopping Centres (Canada) "will be coming out with their new home page next week showcasing their 46 regional malls in Canada at www.cambridgemalls.com. Both these companies will also be showcasing their properties on The Shopping Center Bulletin Board." I will add these two sites to the Directory next week. The Shopping Center Bulletin Board is already there.

BOMA (www.boma.org) has published the new American National Standard for Measuring Floor Area in Office Buildings. This document is not available on the web, at least not yet, because BOMA is offering it for sale (1-800-426-6292). Stephen Traube of Property Valuation Advisors has just published the Summer 1996 Edition of his entertaining Property Valuation Monitor (www.shore.net/~straub/pvm.htm) newsletter on New England Real Estate. Send e-mail to straub@shore.net to request a copy.

3. Bombas... Just when you thought it was safe to visit Spain, the ETA (Basque separatists) set off two bombs. The first was Wednesday in Granada at the Alhambra which we are due to visit on Saturday. The second was at the Parador in Jaen where we are staying. It exploded at 9:30 a.m. Thursday. We arrived at 6:00 p.m. Thursday. (Nobody told us when we checked in.) Both blasts were announced in advance and the areas evacuated. No one was hurt. Makes traveling interesting. P.S. The water seems to be safe to drink anywhere in Spain.

4. Subscribing and Canceling... If you do not want to receive this Dispatch, please reply with "cancel" in the Message field to remove your name. If you know a person who would like to be added to this list, please send me an e-mail with the word "subscribe." Please include your name and company.
