1. New... Oxford Commercial, in Austin, Texas, has put up one of the most attractive, easy-to-follow sites that I've seen--quality research and an excellent office directory of its staff featuring pictures, bios and e-mail addresses. Equis, which provides corporate occupancy services nationwide, has launched their web site with a nice brochure online and interesting recruitment information. Stiles & Riabokobylko, brokers and consultants in Moscow, offers excellent research and listing information. I'm told that the web site was entirely done in Russia, wow. Commercial Tennessee, which provides business real estate services in Memphis, features very good market research and analysis. Trinity Real Estate's Hudson Square site may be the most gorgeous real estate site on the web. This "new district" in New York City is beautifully marketed through vivid graphics and layouts. WRA Properties specializes in both real estate sales and the acquisition and dispostion of pools of performing and non-performing mortgages in the New York City area. Waters Commercial provides brokerage services in Austin, Texas. DataMerge's site promotes its flagship product, the Financing Sources Databank (TM) containing profiles on over 10,000 financing sources. National Mortgage News provides some content from their print publication. 2. Upgrades... Bishop Hawk, with offices in Silicon Valley, the San Francisco East Bay and Sacramento, has done a very nice job of upgrading their site--good listing and research information. NAIOP, the National Association of Industrial and Office Parks, continues to improve its site with information on their Executive Symposium in Bermuda next April complete with a Java applet that makes an eagle "fly." NCREIF, the National Council of Real Estate Investment Fiduciaries, substantially upgraded its site and put the NPI online, the NCREIF Property Index of Total Performance. 3. Web Success... T.J. Anderson, a Texas real estate broker and web site developer, sold a four-acre multi-family land parcel in Austin over the net. The initial inquiry came via e-mail from an investor in Springfield, Illinois, responding to her announcement at the Austin Real Estate Connection advertising the availability of the property. 4. Banner Ads... For new information, click the hyperlink "Banner Advertising" toward the top right of the home page and go to Advertising Bulletin #5 for information on banner counts. 5. PikeNet Traffic... In October, visits to PikeNet increased to 5,473, a rise of over 50%. This statistic represents the number of accesses from a unique IP address during a 30-minute period. Unique hosts accessing PikeNet climbed to 3,285, reflecting an increase of 38.7%. The average monthly increase of unique hosts over the past 6 months has been 21.3%. 6. PikeNet Changes... I added a "Shortcuts" hyperlink in the left hand column of the home page. This is a shortcut to all records in a Category for large geographical areas, e.g., all 262 US Brokers or all 48 Professional Associations. Depending upon the speed of your modem, this could take a bit of time to download. Normally you would choose "US Market Areas," a "State," and a "Market Area" for faster searches of smaller geographical areas. Now more work. The U.S. Census Bureau changed the page location of their demographic information. The result is that I need to change all the Toolkits which will take a week or so. 7. Subscribing/Canceling. If you do not want to receive this Dispatch, please reply with "cancel" in the Message field to remove your name. Please include your name and company. If you know a person who would like to be added to this list, please send me an e-mail with the word "subscribe." --Peter Pike / |
