1. CB COMMERCIAL MOST POPULAR. In April, more visitors left PikeNet to go to CB Commercials web site than any other. The next four in popularity were CRE-NET, AllApartments, Marcus & Millichap and the New America Network. Overall visitors left PikeNet over 13,000 times to go to over 1,400 sites for an average of 9 visits per site. For a list of the Top 10 go to http://www.pikenet.com/about/visits/visits_97-04.html. 2. NEW AND NOTABLE. Commercial Tennessee, based in Memphis, publishes detailed market statistics in its Memphis Real Estate Newsletter. BayWest Commercial Real Estate offers brokerage services from Fremont, CA (Silicon Valley). G & L Real Estate offers investment property brokerage services from San Antonio, TX. The Commercial Real Estate Marketplace (CREM), will now post listings for free. Briargate is a large mixed-use project in Colorado Springs, CO. Vigers provides real estate consultancy services from 15 offices throughout Asia. UK-based Grimley now posts its market research in Adobe Acrobat format. 3. WEB SUCCESS. Good web sites can drive sales of real estate print publications. Case in point. Office Buildings Magazine, which publishes office guides for the Northeast, has recently sold subscriptions to professionals in Singapore and Australia. According to Henry Robbins, "Our web site has afforded us a cost effective way to position our company locally and globally, all at once. And we have generated numerous print ads through our web site." Could service providers sell quality research reports from their sites? 4. SPONSOR. This
issue of the PikeNet Dispatch is sponsored by Real
Estate Connect 97, the Commerce and Technology Summit, which will
explore the future of online real estate marketing and transactions. "Dont
miss it." July 24-26, 1997, San Francisco. Details at 5. CAREERS/RESUMES. Since my site was launched, professionals So Ive added a new category: "Careers/Resumes." Initially youll find links to firms that specialize in real estate placements (RealBank, Real-Jobs and Real Careers) and to companies that post good career information, e.g., Cushman & Wakefield and Equis. What other sites should be added? 6. NEW HOME PAGE. Ive begun to reorganize PikeNet to make it easier to navigate. Youll first see a new home page. Rather than list dozens of hyperlink examples, I provide "channels" of information. Use Market Area Search when you want all web sites in geographical area in a particular category, e.g., Austin, Appraiser or Florida, REIT. Use Category Search, for example, when you want all sites regardless of location. Use Toolkits when you want market research and demographic information for a given area inside the best sites. 7. AND CANCELING. If you do not want to --Peter Pike |
