4. CNN/fn. While on a family vacation in New York City last week, I was invited to appear live on CNN/fn to speak about PikeNet! Don’t ask me how it happened--just a series of fluke events in one day. Beverly Schuch, anchor of "Take It Personally" interviewed me for about five minutes at 3:50 p.m. Eastern, Thursday, August 21. The Dow had just hit its low for the day, down 175, and rallied to close down 127 at 4:00. But I’m not taking credit for the rally. We went live to the web, and I demonstrated how to use PikeNet to find information in different markets while my URL flashed up on the screen in bold type. Neat experience, although I don’t think that many commercial real estate folks were watching (?).

5. PIKENET SEARCH FUNCTIONS. You’ll note that there are now two choices when conducting a search, either "PikeNet Web Links" or " Dispatch, Knowledge, Success." The former will generate the standard "hit list" of web sites; this is the default setting. The latter will search archived issues of the PikeNet Dispatch, the PikeNet Knowledge Base, and Web Success stories.

6. KNOWLEDGEBASE: HOW TO MAKE PIKENET YOUR DEFAULT HOME PAGE. If you want to open up PikeNet when you start your browser, make it your default home page. It’s easy to do. I’ve posted complete instructions on how to configure both Internet Explorer 3.0 and Netscape 3.0. Briefly, for IE: View, Options, Navigation. For Netscape: Options, General Preferences, Appearance.
