1. "Information Overload--II." How do you find relevant information on the web? Matthew Bond of BOMA International uses NewsPage. "Each morning I get twenty clippings based on the topics I select. I can then decide whether to check my personal NewsPage web page to read the articles. The personal web page has many more articles, again based on my selections, than the twenty that come with the daily clips." This service is called "NewsPage Direct," which is part of NewsPage Premium Service for $6.95 per month. Web Success--Oxford Properties Post Stacking Plans. Oxford Properties Group, Inc. develops and manages office, industrial and retail properties in Canada and the U.S. Oxfords new web site is one of the best commercial web sites with excellent property information, including pictures, maps, e-mail contacts and stacking plans. Oxford uses a special batch routine from WinStack that creates 1,200 stacking plans weekly output as JPEG images. Of these, 300 are posted to the Internet and 900 are posted to Oxfords intranet, which contains other views and internal information. WinStack from Real Pro-Jections is a software application that generates stacking plans from rent schedules and building information. 3. New and Notable. Westfield America is a REIT specializing in regional shopping centers and power centers in major metros nationwide. LeaseData offers a tenant lease expiration database online for commercial real estate professionalsby subscription. Leggat McCall Properties owns, develops and manages properties from Boston to Washington, DC. Foreclosures Online provides a nationwide list of foreclosed properties and REO market analysis--by subscription. The ZOM Companies provides multifamily development and property management services in Orlando, FL. Tower Realty Trust has launched a very attractive upgrade of its site. Realty Economics Group, which provides consultation and appraisal services, posts an interactive database of New Jersey tax rates and ratios. 4. Knowledge Base--Adding a Signature to AOL and Compuserve E-mail. If the Internet is all about communications, make it easy for people to call you back! Its easy to add a "signature" automatically to the end of each e-mail containing your name, company and phone number. I recently posted instructions for Outlook and Netscape mail users. Its a little more complicated for AOL and Compuserve e-mailers, but Ive posted details on where to find an add-on program that they can use.
