1. Searching for Real Estate Jobs. ... Looking to fill an available position? Seeking a new job? Curious about salary levels? The web has become a popular place for exchanging job information. ... Several real estate oriented web sites are under development. For example, Crown Advisors, which specializes in executive search, recently launched Jobsite.com, for the "real estate, construction and real estate finance industries." Although the site is just getting populated with jobs and resumes, it offers some nice features. For example, Jobsite.com will send you automatic e-mails when a candidate matches your job criteria, and Jobsite.com will track the number of times your job postings and company profile pages are accessed. You'll also find salary survey information in the future, after the database expands.

Another site that caters to real estate jobs is Real Jobs, sponsored by the University of Cincinnati and designed by Dr. Norm Miller. ... You'll find links to these sites and others in the Jobs and Executive Search Channel at PikeNet under the "Search" bar. ... If your site should be on one of these lists, please send e-mail to me at .

FutureStep is a very elaborate site designed by Korn/Ferry in alliance with the Wall Street Journal, aimed at recruitment for middle-management jobs. It features a free registration process, but one which requires you to spend 40-60 minutes filling out two questionnaires, a Personal Information Questionnaire and a Self Analysis Questionnaire. After you register completely, Korn/Ferry will send you a report that "tells you the industry and positions for which you are most suited, the company culture with which you are most compatible, and the areas of expertise on which you can build." I doubt that you'll find many real estate opportunities, but it's certainly an intriguing service.

Please let me know what Internet sites you've found most valuable for job searching. I'd like to write more about this in future Dispatches. ... Remember, hyperlinks to all sites mentioned above are included in the HTML version of the Dispatch. (See Paragraph 6 below.)

2. Knowledge Base--Ordering D&B Business Reports. ... Need information on a tenant or landlord? You can find instant information on the web. Just go to KnowX and order a D&B Report ($19-65 depending upon the report). ... For step-by-step instructions, visit the PikeNet Knowledge Base (top of home page) under the Financial Information section or use the URL below:

3. Narrow Your PikeNet Search Geographically. ... When you generate a hit list based upon a category at PikeNet you can easily limit the scope geographically. ... Let's say that you're interested in Commercial REITs that invest in Texas. Go to the REITs and Institutions Channel. Click "Commercial" under the Search heading. You'll notice that there are 70 REITs total. Click "Narrow Search to a Specific Market Area" in the tan box. Now you can drill down to the state of Texas, where you'll find 36 REITs listed. Note: All REITs are shown in all market areas, even though they may only invest in one or two markets. Hey, it's hard enough tracking the number of states where each REIT has investments!

4. Web Success--Korpacz Markets Over Web. ... The web allows you to market and distribute print products efficiently. So it's no surprise that the Korpacz Real Estate Investor Survey can be ordered and delivered in Adobe Acrobat format. Peter Korpacz reports that "demand for the 50-plus page quarterly publication of market information on institutional-grade real estate has increased substantially since the Survey went on-line." Korpacz also publishes the Korpacz Real Estate Source Directory with over 12,000 descriptions of "real estate data products and sources, software, education programs, books, Web sites, and local government publications." ... Do you have a Web Success story? Send e-mail to . For past Web Success stories use the following URL:

5. "Tour" Your Clients with HipBone. ... Wow, check out HipBone at www.hipbone.com! This neat service enables you to co-navigate a tour of the web by linking your browser with your client's. Then anytime you click a hyperlink, you will take your guest (in the next city or across the country) to the same page. Likewise, if your guest clicks a hyperlink, your browser will move to that new site. Your two browsers are linked at the "hip." I know that it sounds a little far out, but it's a great example of how the web can connect people to people. ... Your copy of the PikeNet Dispatch will then look just like a web page with all web sites and e-mail addresses hyperlinked. ... Not every e-mail program can receive HTML mail, but Netscape, Eudora 4.0, Outlook 98 and Outlook Express can all receive it correctly. ...
