1. EFax for the Road Warrior... Chris Crocker with Capital Commercial Real Estate in Los Angeles writes. "The other day I was on the freeway and needed to get a fax immediately. Instead of making the old where-is-the-nearest-Kinko's move, I had the client fax to my eFax number, pulled over (please don't do this while driving, for all of our sakes!), logged in and printed to my portable Cannon Bubblejet (which also scans for outbound faxes in Winfax). Whammo ... no delay for the client while I was on the road." To make it all work, Crocker uses a cellular compatible modem with adapter for dual mode cell phone. OK, but what kind of mileage does he get? ... I've previously posted step-by-step directions for using eFax in the Web Related section of PikeNet's Web Resources (left-hand column of home page). 2. Hoover's Online Research Center... Steven Norris at CRW Associates recommends Hoover's. "I have found Hoover's Online Research Center to be of infinite value in researching tenants in investment grade properties. As our firm does quite a bit of pension fund and life company work, we have to have an independent opinion of the credit-worthiness of tenants, other than the asset manager's endorsement." ... I've posted step-by-step directions in the Web Related section of PikeNet's Web Resources (left-hand column of home page). Question... What are your favorite research sites for financial and property information? How do you use them? Send e-mail to me , and I'll report more in a future Dispatch. --Peter |
